Characteristics of steel pipe materials

1.Features: Steel pipe with section closed to the symmetry, when used in arm or beam structures (X axis bearing capacity and Y axis bearing capacity), the resistance to distortion and torsion flexion (buckling) ability are much better than non-locking symmetry of the H section steel, tank iron, groove-shaped steel (Channel), angle iron (Yamagata Steel Angle) and other structure materials.

1. As the bigger the “sorting” number is, it indicates under the same bearing level, the greater material weight is required to be used. From above table, we can see steel pipe is the best section structure out of various materials of the bearing capacities.

2. Although wood is lighter in “weight”, however, due to worms, combustion, easy to crack, bulky (affecting the use of space), and large wood beams and other issues made it increasingly difficult, expensive, and limited to use. If adoption of high-strength steel to replace grade SS400 steel, advantages of steel will be even enhanced.
